Imbolc (Candlemas)

Part of my occasional project to make a photograph near my home on the dates of each of the ancient pagan festivals. Imbolc is around 1-2 February, a Gaelic festival still marked in some places, midway between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, when the very first signs of spring may be seen.
This is a charismatic tree that I'm often drawn to, especially in mist and fog. Its shape suggests a bonsai. Not long after I took this photograph, the sun broke through and the fog rapidly disappeared.
